2007 ULI World Cities Forum
17-19 April 2007
Shanghai, China
On 17-19 April 2007, ULI-the Urban Land Institute will convene 150
senior leaders of the property development and finance industry to
explore the risks of, and rewards for, doing business in China. This
exclusive gathering of top executives from global real estate companies
will take you behind-the-scenes for the straight story on development
and investment opportunities in one of the world’s fastest growing
markets. What does it take to succeed in this still relatively immature
marketplace?
Where are the potential pitfalls? What have other western developers
and investors already learned that can give you a competitive advantage
whether you are just still considering this emerging market or trying to
expand your existing foothold?
Shanghai and China provide the backdrop for the 2007 World Cities
Forum, and serve as the perfect learning laboratory for understanding
emerging markets around the world. Join with your industry peers in
highly interactive discussions on the factors that work to make
today’s global cities competitive and attractive investment
opportunities over the long term.
Programme Features
- One-on-one interaction with senior-level public officials from
Shanghai and the Central Government of China.
- Presentations from, and interaction with, academicians representing
China’s leading universities who are experienced in working with
western developers and investors, as well as with Chinese government
officials. Hear the party line, and learn what it really takes to get a
deal done in China.
- Meetings with Chinese private developers who understand the
potential risks and who know how to navigate around them.
- Small-group discussions and candid interaction among Forum
attendees; share your lessons learned and mistakes make in doing
business in China and other emerging markets.
- Optional tours that will allow you to see first-hand some of the
most ambitious and innovative development projects occurring in and
around Shanghai. Hear directly from the private developers and public
officials behind these projects.
- A variety of evening networking opportunities that will allow you to
meet with fellow Forum attendees and invited special guests.
