Institute? If you have reviewed the membership information on our
website, and you still have questions about ULI, you can e-mail membership@uli.org and a
member representative will contact you with an answer. Or you can

How can I upgrade my membership or change my membership
type?
If you are a Member who would like to become a Full Member, you may
submit a Full Member application online or download an application to
send by fax or mail. Full Member applicants must submit a short
biography and resume along with the names of three current Full Member
sponsors as part of the application. For a ULI application, click here.
If you are a student member who has graduated and would like to
continue your membership with ULI, you may upgrade over the phone by
calling our Customer Service Center 1-800-321-5011 or by sending an
email to membership@uli.org
with your updated contact information and the member type you are
interested in. We will then provide you with an invoice for the correct
amount. You do not need to submit a new application.

I’m having trouble
logging into the website.
ULI member and nonmembers need to login to the ULI website in order
to access certain members-only information or to make an online
transaction. If you know your ULI ID or email address and password, but
are having trouble logging into the ULI website, try clearing both the
History and Cookie files in your web browser. Be sure to click "Logout"
before ending your session with ULI and closing your browser.
If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Your Password"
link below the login box. You will then be asked to enter your email
address (Note: the email address you enter must match the email
address we have on file in your member record). An email will be
sent with detailed instructions for resetting your password.
What is the difference between
a Member and a Full Member?
Members enjoy benefits such as a subscription to Urban Land,
discounts on books and events, access to the online membership
directory, and opportunities to become involved with local District
Council activities.
Full Membership is a category designed for members who wish to commit
personal time and resources to in depth participation in ULI. In
addition to the above benefits, Full Members are eligible for nomination
to one of our 40+ Product Councils, such as the Multifamily Housing
Council and the Industrial Development Council, and are invited to
attend the Spring Council Forum. Further benefits of Full Membership
include publication in the annual ULI Executive Directory and the
opportunity to become a ULI Trustee. For a ULI Full member and
Council application, click here.

What is the difference
between a District Council and a Product Council?
A District Council is ULI at the local level. ULI District Council
events allow members to network with other professionals in their area
and stay up-to-date on local urban planning or policy issues. District
Councils are a great resource for all ULI members. For more information
about ULI District Councils, click here.
A Product Council is similar to a special interest group. Full
Members who share an interest in a specific field such as Commercial and
Retail Development or a key issue such as Affordable Housing meet
throughout the year to discuss ideas and share experiences.
Participation is limited to Full Members who have been nominated by a
Council Chair. For more information about ULI Product Councils, click here.
Is my company a
member?
ULI offers membership to individuals, not companies. When you join
ULI, that membership belongs to you and cannot be canceled or
transferred by an employer. The exceptions to this rule are Sustaining
and Supporting memberships and our Public Agency membership. These three
categories are special group memberships offered on a limited basis. For
more information about ULI membership types and options, click here.
I’d like to join a ULI
District Council. Do I have to join ULI at the national level as
well?
ULI is a global membership organization. By joining ULI, you are
automatically affiliated with a local District Council, if there is one
in your geographic region. You will begin receive news and event updates
from your District Council coordinator. If you would like to participate
in the activities of a District Council other than your assigned
council, please contact us at 1-800-321-5011 and we will add you as a
visiting member. This option may be useful if you are planning to move
to a new area and would like to establish ULI contacts before you
arrive. For more information about ULI District Councils, click here.
How can I contact ULI members?
Does ULI allow the rental or sale of its membership list?
ULI members (except for Students) may use the online membership
directory to contact individual members for professional
reasons. Once a year, Full members are mailed a printed copy of
ULI's Executive Directory, which is a complete listing of ULI Full
members. ULI does not rent or sell our membership list to members or
nonmembers, but occassionally forms strategic partnerships for limited
list exchanges with related organizations. For more information about
ULI's list exchange policies, contact Kenneth SooHoo at ksoohoo@uli.org.
