Zell’s investments span industries and continents, and include interests in finance, energy, transportation, communications, and real estate. He is the chairman of five public companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He is also chairman of his private entrepreneurial investment firm, Equity Group Investments, which was the originator of three of the largest REITs in the real estate industry. He is chairman of Equity International, a privately held, leading investor in real estate–related businesses outside the United States. Through Equity International, Zell has been a longtime investor in Latin America. Most recently, Equity International originated the public offerings for three international companies in which Zell maintains substantial interests: Gafisa, the leading homebuilder in Brazil; BR Malls, one of the largest shopping center owners and operators in Brazil; and Homex, the fastest-growing homebuilder in Mexico.

Ordorica is a managing director of Prudential Real Estate Investors (PREI) and chief executive officer of PREI–Latin America. He manages PREI’s investment management business in Latin America and integrates PREI’s regional offices throughout Latin America with PREI’s headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey. Ordorica has participated in some of the most significant real estate transactions in Latin America. Before joining PREI, he was head of the Latin America team at JPMorgan’s Global Real Estate Investment Banking group.
Vicente Fox
Former President of Mexico
When elected president of Mexico in 2000, Fox broke the stranglehold the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party had held on the state for seven decades. A charismatic reformer, Fox is credited with playing a vital role in Mexico’s democratization and with strengthening the country’s economy. During his tenure, he succeeded in controlling inflation and interest rates, and in achieving for Mexico the lowest unemployment rate in all of Latin America. In his book Revolution of Hope, Fox outlines a new vision of hope for the future of the Americas. He speaks out forcefully on hot global topics such as immigration, the war in Iraq, racism, globalization, the role of the United Nations, free trade, religion, gender equity, indigenous rights, and the moral imperative to heal the global divide between rich and poor nations.
