ULI in the Americas

During the last five years the United States-based real estate development industry has been transformed to become global in scope. This has occurred in many forms including joint ventures, acquisitions, and the establishment of branch offices around the world. ULI members have been in the forefront of this rapid transformation.

The change in how the land use industry does business has created tremendous opportunity for ULI. During the ULI vision effort in the mid 90s it was agreed that ULI would be responsive to the globalization of real estate development. ULI has therefore moved forward to solidify its international effort. It is clear that for ULI to be significant as an organization globally, it must integrate all its activities and programs of work.

2008 Awards for Excellence: The Americas

One of the Urban Land Institute’s guiding principles is that the achievement of excellence in land use practice should be recognized and rewarded. ULI has been recognizing development projects in both the public and private sectors since 1979. With each award, the public becomes more keenly aware of the benefits of superior planning, design, and development, a goal of both the Institute and the development industry.
