Programs & Tools

In order to facilitate carbon emissions reduction, Greenprint Foundation provides Programs and Tools to the public that are designed to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions in a sustainable and commercially feasible fashion.

The Greenprint Performance Report™ provides a consolidated view of participating properties, detailing their current carbon footprint and providing an important benchmark against which the global real estate industry can measure its progress in reducing carbon emissions. Two reports have been issued to date, with Volume 2 marking the first report in which Greenprint Foundation members can measure their relative progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions over time.  Aligned with both the International Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the principles of ISO 14064, Volume 2 expands on our mission of providing a clear and consistent standard of greenhouse gas emission measurement and performance for the real estate industry which, along with its scope and size, make it not only one of the largest but one of the industry’s most verifiable, transparent and comprehensive benchmarking tools.  In addition, Greenprint makes every effort to harmonize the Report’s methodology with established green building accreditation systems.

Through its Innovation and Technology Committee, Greenprint Foundation identifies emerging trends in energy and carbon reduction strategies which will then be tested and shared with the public through the Foundation’s Pilot Programs. The Foundation is focused on increasing awareness of innovative technologies including: lighting solutions, smart meters, energy management systems, building commissioning, window solutions and HVAC systems.

The Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) has provided fiveToolkits through its alliance with Greenprint Foundation: Better Metering ToolkitManaging Agents Sustainability ToolkitGreen Building Management ToolkitGreen Lease ToolkitSustainability Benchmarking Toolkit for Commercial Buildings and the Low Carbon Retrofit Toolkit.

Jones Lang LaSalle has assembled a Green Office Toolkit that provides a series of tools to guide tenants in their leasing decisions and in implementing an effective sustainability program.

Additional future programs will include Green Leases, Green Finance and a Regulatory Trends Report.
