ULI Awards for Excellence define the standard for real estate development practice worldwide. In its 31st year, the awards program is the centerpiece of ULI’s efforts to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development. The awards recognize the full development process of a project—construction, economic viability, marketing, and management—as well as design.
The ULI Awards for Excellence honor development projects in three regions: the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Each region has its own jury, schedule, and fees.

Finalists and winners are celebrated at awards ceremonies held in conjunction with ULI conferences. The ceremonies feature a professionally produced video of finalists and the presentation of a commemorative plaque to winners. Each winner receives a jewel-quality, 12-inch (30 cm) polished stainless steel cube, engraved with the jury’s official statement about the winning project.
Further recognition of finalists and winners includes profiles of them in a lavishly illustrated book distributed worldwide, as well as press releases and announcements in Urban Land magazine and on the Institute’s Home page.
All winning projects in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific advance for consideration for the ULI Global Awards for Excellence, which honor projects that demonstrate cross-regional lessons in real estate development. A renowned international jury selects up to five Global Award winners, which are honored at a special ceremony during the ULI Fall Meeting.
"That ULI has chosen the Wetland Park to be honoured with one of its acclaimed Global Awards is, I believe, a measure not only of the success of our multi-disciplinary, sustainable approach to this project but also is indicative of the far-sightedness and vision of ULI in seeking out unusual or unique projects that can make a difference to our environment and our future."
