Keynote Speakers

Vicente Fox

Vicente Fox
Former President of Mexico

When elected to the presidency of Mexico in 2000, Fox broke the stranglehold that the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party had held on the State for seven decades. A charismatic reformer, President Fox is credited as playing a vital role in Mexico’s democratization, and with strengthening the country’s economy. During his tenure, he succeeded in controlling inflation and interest rates, and in achieving the lowest unemployment rate in all of Latin America.

In his book, Revolution of Hope, President Fox outlines a new vision of hope for the future of the Americas. He speaks out forcefully on hot global topics like immigration, the war in Iraq, racism, globalization, the role of the United Nations, free trade, religion, gender equity, indigenous rights and the moral imperative to health, and the global divide between rich and poor nations.

Christiane Amanpour James Rubin

Christiane Amanpour
Chief International Correspondent
CNN

James Rubin
Former Assistant Secretary of State and Chief Spokesman
The State Department

Combining the perspectives of an expert crafter of foreign policy with that of the world's premier war correspondent, Jamie Rubin and Christiane Amanpour offer a non-partisan take on the world’s attitudes towards the United States and American foreign policy. From living in Europe for seven years, Rubin understands America's friends, and Amanpour's thoughtful reporting on Muslim culture gives her a rare understanding of the country's challenges. Together these views from abroad provide a unique look at world events, at perceptions of the United States, and at how those perceptions will affect Washington's choices in the coming years.  The Fall Meeting is less than one week before the U.S. general election.  Come and hear insiders’ perspectives on what will happen.

Paul Volcker

Paul A. Volcker
Former Chairman, Federal Reserve

Serving in the Federal Government for almost 30 years and holding high office under five presidents, Paul Volcker served two consecutive terms as chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve System as chairman of the Board of Governors. His vast experience and knowledge in banking and finance is insurmountable. He will share with us a wealth of insight on the historical patterns and future of the international economic scene. Volcker will provide his unique perspective on the economy and the short and long-term outlook. You don’t want to miss it.
